Meet J. Ryan Johnson, Esq., the Nashville attorney featured in Forbes, Fortune, and Super Lawyers. As the founder of the Law Office of J. Ryan Johnson, PLLC, a boutique firm in downtown Nashville, he leads a dedicated team specializing in divorce, child custody, and family law across Middle Tennessee. With a practice spanning since 2012, J. Ryan Johnson brings a wealth of experience and expertise to every case.

Before diving into law, Mr. Johnson pursued a music career, performing across the U.S. This background enhances his ability to connect with clients. He personally handles each case, ensuring hands-on, effective representation. Mr. Johnson is still a passionate music fan and concertgoer. 

With a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Middle Tennessee State University and a Juris Doctor from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law, Mr. Johnson has been practicing family law since 2012. Licensed in all Tennessee state courts, he brings a client-centered approach to his practice, leveraging his exceptional listening and litigation skills.

Throughout Mr. Johnson’s career, he has represented hundreds of clients across Middle Tennessee. His approach to law is shaped by both his legal experience and background in music. In both professions, success requires authenticity, dedication, and—most importantly—active listening. 

In 2022, The Supreme Court of Tennessee’s Commission of Alternative Dispute Resolution certified him as a Listed Rule 31 Family Law Mediator with a special training in domestic violence related cases.
