
Biography
Rebecca Toca serves as a Senior Attorney with the Law Office of J. Ryan Johnson, where she advocates for individuals and families during some of life’s most challenging periods. With more than thirteen years of legal experience, she is an experienced family law attorney licensed to practice in Tennessee and New York.
Rebecca began her career as a Domestic Violence Prosecutor in Queens County, New York, where she served for more than seven years. She later relocated to Tennessee and transitioned to family law, spending more than five years as Lead Family Law Attorney with the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee. Through these roles, she developed a strong foundation in litigation, advocacy, and handling complex, deeply personal family matters.
Dedicated to the Nashville-area community, she and her husband enjoy raising their family here in Middle Tennessee. She also teaches as an Adjunct Professor of Legal Writing at Belmont University, and serves on the board of the Nashville Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
The daughter of an Army officer, Rebecca grew up across the country- living in Alaska, Colorado, New York, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico and Virginia. Growing up in a military family instilled in her an appreciation for adaptability, integrity, and the importance of family as a source of stability.
She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma and her Juris Doctor from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law.
